Summer 2009

I will be teaching composition lessons at Eastman for the Summer Session, including majors and nonmajors.

 

March 27, 2009

I got some good news yesterday. I had talked with E.B. Marks about a new Bolcom engraving - an older piece for Violin and String Orchestra for Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg. It now turns out that Bill has writtien her a new piece, Romanza, so I will be engraving both in the coming few months.

Also I am finally getting to the part extraction portion on Bolcom's Third Symphony - I've been working on this score for two years!

 

March 2009

Job search update: I heard from Indiana that I didn't make the short list (this was the long shot application. However I have still yet to hear from Ithaca or Bucknell (who knows with this economy). The most recent application has gone out for a special appointment at Central Connecticut State University - what sounds like a good Technology/Theory position.

In other carreer development news, I have applied for the Minnesota Composer Institute for the Fall of 2009.

I have turned in the permanent copy of my dissertation. Next stop is graduation!

 

April 8, 2008

I will be defending my Ph.D. thesis in front of a graduate committe of the University of Rochester and the Eastman School of Music.

UPDATE!!! (4/9/08) I passed the thesis defense - you can call me Doctor now!
